THE POEM IN TWO PARTS.
Part 1. Truly Rustic.
Why should not ev'ry trader sell by auction
His merchandise--as well as I my oxen,
Cowes, sheep, and horses--carts, ploughs, chains and
traces,
By night, or day--as best the owner pleases?

Part II.
  . . . [6 lines]
My muse shall sing the triumphs of that day
Throw off her bombast, and her skill display.--
And all the sons of liberty shall then,
In sacred harmony the chorus join. Amen
  [signed] A Countryman.
